cONDUCTED bY Budda/NFA
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm... Hammmmmmmmmmmmmmm... (Sorry just a bit of meditating
whilst waiting for the views of the readers)
Okay, last issue (4) I asked you lot this brain taxing question:-
Why Are PCs So Shit?
And how many replies did I get? Two fucking ones, come on!
The two views are completely opposite which I suppose is good as there's
a view from both sides. Enough rumbling lets get on with 'em.
------------------------------------------------------------
Hello ßudda...
Your question wasn't very fair as you seem to have already
decided that they are shit without knowing why! I own a PC and used to
own an A1200 until I flogged it because of this Commodore thing. My 486
PC isn't going to be out-of-date in a year and software support can
never run out as the user base is far larger than the Amigas. Also if I
want to sell my machine for an upgrade maybe I shouldn't have too much
trouble as PCs are always wanted, unlike Amigas which people don't seem
to be investing in.
The current software being released is far superior to any on
the Amiga and there's more of it too! Maybe you should open your eyes
and see that the PC IS the way ahead!

ßudda replies...
You seem to be wrapped in your PC. I can't see why you sold
your A1200 just because of some trouble with the makers, you're not
going to be buying another Amiga so Commodore shouldn't be a factor in
wether or not to keep your A1200. Software support is the thing to take
into consideration when decideing on a machine. And at the moment the
Amiga seems to be stuffed with new releases so there's no sign of
software publishers being 'scared' of investing in the Amiga market. As
for you 486 not being out of date well that's a load of shit as it's
already out of date! I own a 386 and it's definetly out of date now as
most new software requires a 486 and 4 Mb of RAM minimum. The only
people likely to but your machine are first timers who don't have a
bloody clue about computers or people on a tight budget. Current
software release on the PC are only marginally higher but most of it is
crap or not if intrest to many people. The games are usually ports from
other machines (although this is beginning to change) and the finished
quality is usually below the original standard. The only games the are
any better on the PC are RPG's as they don't require fast movement and a
speedy processor. All the good games require hoards of memory and a
fast (& expensive) PC. This is totally out of most peoples price range
which is why PC are so SHIT!
------------------------------------------------------------
Dear ßudda/NFA
I'm completely sick of PC owners mouthing off about their
machines. They are crap. My point is that games which run on an Amiga
500(7MHz) with 1 Mb need 4 Mb and a 25 Hz processor on a PC to do the
same thing! The PC has been badly designed inside but now they can't
change it as there's to many current users who wont want to buy a whole
new system to fix this problem. They are stupid enough to fork out more
money just to keep there system up to running the latest things. What
will happen when their PC can't take anymore but the programs are
requiring 100 Mb to run? They will be stuffed. Ha - and I hope they
die of it.

ßudda replies...
I totally agree, at last someone with some sense! Are yor
processor speeds corret Badds? I don't know.

Well that's the mail bag empty from last issue. Now onto this issues
HOT-TOPIC. I want your thoughts and reasons on this difficult
question:-
WHY DID YOU BUY AN AMIGA?
Whatever your reason get it down on paper or on disk and send it to me.
I await your views!
Catch me next issue with the replies and another HOT-TOPIC, until then
I'll be seeing you in my mind. Ooooh-er.
